Character Summary
Monique Eazel, nicknamed “Mo,” was mostly seen
when she was needed for the first few books. The first time she was seen was in
a dream had by her older brother, Keese,
in Book 12 while he was sleeping. The next time she was seen was in Book 19,
when she was trying to deal with Keese and her other older brother, Maurice,
being trapped in their archenemies’ bodies.
In Book 25, she appeared when Maurice
found out the girl he’d been flirting with online was none other than Monique herself. (He was using the screen name
“SexyBeast,” while she used the screen name “HotGirl.”) She was seen
again later on to offer her opinion about Maurice’s
homeless “friend,” Dan
Simmons.
She made periodical appearances in Books 27, 28, and 29, as well. Her appearance
at the end of Book 29 was to facilitate her relationship with Green Battler Aaron
Rountree.
In Super Battlers 3, she was involved in her first major story when she, the
six male Battlers, and Maurice’s
girlfriend, Vivian
DiCapa, were magically transported to Dare Island,
an island ruled by a sorcerer by the name of Bin
Dare. They were forced to enter a tournament against all the Battlers’
ultimate enemies. If they won, they were free to go. If they lost, they’d be
eaten by the one who defeated them — and there would be no escape since Dare
was magically shielding all of their stomach walls.
After that, Dare magically split up all eight Battlers (they’d reunited with
Blue and Purple Battlers Shauna
Davidson and Diahandra
Christian) and sent them to different parts of his island. Monique was split up with Aaron.
While trekking through a jungle, the two of them were ambushed by gorillas and
taken to their leader, Goril
Primus, Aaron’s ultimate enemy.
While Aaron had to fight Goril, Monique was tied to a tree somewhere in the jungle.
She was later found by Gold Battler Deyon
Davis, Maurice, and White Battler J.J.
Rountree. They reunited with the other teens soon after that. But Monique was devastated to learn that Keese had lost
his fight and had been eaten by his ultimate enemy, Chief
Manhunter. But to avenge him and the other two losers, Red Battler Jon
Crawley and Felicia
Hooper, one of Shauna and Diahandra’s friends, they all went to face Dare
in the final battle right on the heels of defeating all of their other ultimate
enemies. Keese, Jon, and Felicia all turned up safe during the final battle
and, after defeating Dare, all of them were safely sent home to celebrate New
Year’s Eve in peace.
In Book 35, Monique
was there to comfort her mother when she and Ski got into another fight over
Maurice and Keese and Ski fell ill, just as Precious and Brandon had previously
fallen ill, from DiCapa’s poison that only affected people fifty- to
one-hundred-percent Caucasian. She also helped comfort J.J.
and Aaron’s mother, Regina, after a confrontation with DiCapa.
In Super Battlers 4,
Monique was there at the airport with
her mother and half-siblings as part of Keese’s farewell committee as he left Alexandria and his job as
the Orange Battler behind him.
In Book 45, Monique headed
up a project for her school. She was to build a float for the Veteran’s Day parade
coming up. The float she had in mind, though, was an urban theme completely
unrelated to Veteran’s Day, and Jon, Philip DiCapa, and various others tried to
alert her to that, but she stood by her idea all the way. At least until she was
kidnapped by Castoro
“Cast” Dammon and overheard some Killer Beavers laughing at her idea. She was
used as bait to lure into a trap so that Cast could fight him, but Jon helped her
escape and fought Cast to save her life, as well as his own. She awarded Jon with
a kiss on the cheek after changing up her float idea into something more suited
for the holiday.
Monique was kidnapped
in Book 48 by Cast, yet again, and taken to the Killer Beaver
Village, where she, Vivian
DiCapa, Juliet Kwarteng, and all eight of the Battlers were to be eaten by Chief
Manhunter, who was eager to finally absorb their Battler Emeralds since they’d all
undergone the Crystal Advance. Thanks to a clever plan by Deyon, though, they were
all able to escape and enjoy their Christmas, in spite of all the villain-caused
chaos. Her Christmas was even made better by Jon inviting her to Christmas dinner
at his family’s house, an invitation she gladly accepted!
