Character Summary

Patrick Porkers, also known as “Pastry Pat,” was first met in a pastry shop he’d opened in downtown Alexandria, Virginia. Silver Battler Maurice Eazel first entered the shop during its grand opening with his baby son, Maury. While Pat looked like a man, he was actually an anthropomorphic pig with magic powers in disguise, and he at first thought Maurice was a nonhuman mage in disguise, as well. He quickly found out he wasn’t, however, when he saw Maurice’s Battler Emerald. When he realized he was a human, he realized he’d hit pay dirt. So after Maurice had left his shop, he followed him to see where he went, hoping it’d be where the other Battlers were.

Maurice did indeed lead Pat to the other Battlers — Gold Battler Deyon Davis, White Battler Richard Montgomery, Orange Battler Jay Dixon, Green Battler Aaron Rountree, Red Battler Jon Crawley, Blue Battler Shauna Davidson, and Purple Battler Diahandra Christian — and quickly engaged them in battle after revealing his true self to them, as well as his true intentions — to magically turn them into pastries to sell to other hungry nonhuman mages looking for some tasty human treats. While the Battlers fought hard and valiantly, he eventually achieved half of his goal by trapping Deyon, Richard, Aaron, and Shauna in a pie and kidnapping them.

Pat achieved the second half of his goal the following day, though, when Maurice, Jay, Jon, and Diahandra found out where he lived (in a regular human house!) and came looking for him. He simply threatened the remaining four Battlers with their trapped friends’ lives. Unless they surrendered to him, he’d eat the pie they were trapped in, which meant he’d eat them, too. With no other choice, the Battlers surrendered, and Pat trapped them in a pie, too. Now, they were ready for delivery to a secret client of Pat’s.

The client turned out to be Chief Manhunter. He’d gotten a notice saying that Cast had caught four of the Battlers and was willing to buy the pie they’d been sealed in. But he got a surprising eight-for-four deal when Pat brought him the pie containing the other four, as well. For his efforts, Pat was rewarded with twenty-thousand dollars — twice as much as he’d actually been promised. With his money in hand, Pat happily bid goodbye to Chief Manhunter, his top cohort, Cast, and even the doomed Battlers, and took his leave, not knowing they’d soon escape, thanks to Maurice. Pat hasn’t been since then, thinking the Battlers were eaten by Chief Manhunter.
