Race against Time

Deyon has befriended a mutant rat by the name of Pestilence Vermin after rescuing him from a group of other mutant rats. Deyon has introduced him to the other Battlers. But this new “friendship” comes to an end the moment Vermin kidnaps the other Battlers while Deyon is gone as part of his plan for revenge on him.

Now, Deyon and Jon have to find and rescue the other Battlers, who’ve been hidden in various places in the city. If they don’t, Vermin eats them. There is just one hitch — each time one is found, a deadly trap will be sprung. . . .

• Deyon meets his ultimate enemy, Pestilence Vermin, who debuts in this book.
• Deyon and Jon learn the truth behind Vermin’s vendetta against Deyon from Oriana.
