Christmas Clash

Deyon and the other Battlers are in a bit of a bind. They’ve all undergone the Crystal Advance, and they’ve all obtained their Battler Emeralds. And with no clue as to whether or not Chief Manhunter knows about it, the kids are getting worried. Still, that shouldn’t stop them from having a normal, enjoyable Christmas, right?

Wrong. Turns out, Chief Manhunter does know they all have Battler Emeralds, and has launched a series of attacks on them that results in their capture. Now, the kids have to escape before they become his Christmas dinner and have their emeralds absorbed, or this Christmas will be their last one. . . .

• This book is narrated by Deyon, the Gold Battler.
• Four past villains return in this book — from Fenrir Lupus, Carnivore, Maximole, and Goril Primus!
• Two new romances blossom in this book — Jon’s with Monique, and Diahandra’s with Desmond.
• There is no Tournament of Wonder “footage” in this book.
• Aaron dies in this book when Goril bites him in the throat, causing him to bleed to death. But he is revived shortly afterwards.
• While not stated in the book, this is Richard and Jay’s first Christmas as Battlers.
• Deyon finally masters his Magic Advance and uses it successfully for the first time in this book.
• Chief Manhunter has learned the ability of publicizing people’s thoughts to others while reading them.
• Though he is said to be returning to town, J.J.’s return is not an on-page event in this book.
