Shauna’s got some big problems. She’s broken up with her boyfriend, Jamal. Her stepsister, Charmain, is dating a boy who verbally abuses her. And she and the other Battlers are having trouble finding the ingredients for a spell that might help them defeat Cast.

Luckily, a new guy has come along to ease Shauna’s stress, and after spending some time with him, she feels a bit better. At least until she finds out a mysterious beast is stalking her for food. Shauna and the other Battlers now have to find out how and why this beast is after her, because it’s yet another problem they really don’t need right now. . . .

• This book is narrated by Shauna, the Blue Battler.
• The Battlers begin their mission to get the Stone of Absor out of Cast’s stomach by finding the following ingredients for the Stone Removal Spell — an Intimato fang, a lock of hair from a female human Necromage, ten or more drops of werewolf saliva, a vulture feather, and a cauldron to put them in called the Superior.
• This book introduces a new creature called the Intimato, which is disguised as one-shot character Ty Butler.
• Shauna breaks up with Jamal in this book, but reconciles with him by the end of it. They will be dating long-distance from this point on.
• Shauna’s stepsister, Charmain, features fairly prominently in this book. Her storyline is based on the subplot of an episode of The Golden Girls involving Blanche and her own abusive boyfriend, Rex Huntington.
• Richard, Jay, Aaron, and Jon all play very small roles in this book, which mostly features the college-age Battlers, Shauna, Deyon, Maurice, and Diahandra.
