The Ultimate Showdowns
New Year’s Eve is supposed to be a delightful
holiday. But for us Battlers, it isn’t. A madman named Bin Dare has kidnapped
us and trapped us on his island. And he is forcing us to face all of our
ultimate enemies in battle.
Now, Deyon, Maurice, Kesse, Aaron, Jon, Shauna, Diahandra, and I have no choice
in this matter. So after Dare splits us up from each other, we’re forced to
face our enemies separately. If we win, we’re free to go. If we lose,
we get eaten. And unfortunately, some of us will lose in our fights. . .
.
NOTES:
- This
book is the third special edition and is narrated by all eight Battlers.
It is the first one to be narrated by all eight Battlers, not all seven,
what with Jon’s
edition to the group.
- The
summary of this book is narrated by J.J., the White Battler. (All Super
Battler summaries are narrated by a Battler.)
- This
is, so far, the longest book to be written with 340 pages — 334 pages in
the main story, five pages in the preview of Book
30, and the one page containing the summary of the upcoming book!
- The
Battler boys reunite with Shauna and Diahandra — but the reunion only
lasts for this book!
- Jon meets the girls
for the first time! He (off-page) just missed meeting them in Book
23.
- Every one of the
Battlers’ ultimate enemies resurfaces in this book — Vermin, Fenrir,
Predator, Chief Manhunter, Goril, Gamester, the Sabre Brothers, and
Infernus and Volcanis!
- Some non-Battlers are
pulled into the mix — Derrick,
Jamal,
Felicia,
and Vivian!
Even Maurice
and Kesse’s
younger sister, Monique,
comes along for the ride! And all of them are forced to fight, too!
- This book contains
small, blended elements of the movie Mortal Kombat (there was a
fighting tournament on an island) and the children’s show Yu-Gi-Oh!
(Yugi and his friends were split up from each other in a virtual world and
had to duel against the Big Five to escape — but if they lost, their
bodies would get taken over, while their minds would remain trapped in the
virtual world).
- When Diahandra tells Kesse
that the Sabre Brothers worked with Infernus and Volcanis, she refers to
an adventure in Book
31.
- Three of the thirteen
teenagers lose their fights — Kesse, Jon, and Felicia!
